When Saturn Is In CancerSaturn moved into Cancer in June, 2003. Saturn is the planet that represents duty, responsibility, discipline, and order as well as restriction limitation, inhibition, and delay. Saturn is the taskmaster of the Zodiac. Cancer is the sign that rules home, family, domesticity, and real estate. The US is a Cancer country, born July 4, 1776. President George W. Bush is also a Cancer, born July 6, 1946. When Saturn by transit is prominent in an individual's chart, it's no time to be doing anything that he doesn't want to get caught at. What Can We Expect The last three previous treks of Saturn's through Cancer occurred between August, 1973 and June, 1976; June, 1944 through August, 1946; and August, 1914 and July, 1917. While no repeating cycle can be exactly the same because all the other planets posit different zodiacal positions, certain similar patterns get repeated. By looking back, we can get an idea of what we might be able to expect this time. In December, 1973, Vice President Agnew was forced to step down because of scandal. Gerald Ford replaced him as Vice President. The Yom Kippur War occurred in September, 1973, when Arab nations attacked Israel. The oil crisis that followed occurred as a result of Arab nations placing an embargo on shipments to the US, Europe, and Japan in retaliation for support of Israel. Arab states later substantially increased the price of oil, causing worldwide inflation. The price of food and materials as well as oil skyrocketed. Shah Mohammed Reza Phalavi had previously nationalized all foreign oil firms that were operating in Iran. In 1974 the Watergate scandal burst into the headlines. Presidential impeachment was on the table and former White House aids were convicted and sentenced in a cover up. Nixon was forced to turn over White House tapes and named as an unindited co-conspirator. Nixon resigned on August 9, 19774. The War in Vietnam ended. The communists took over South Vietnam and Cambodia. Interestingly enough, World War II ended with Saturn's previous trek through Cancer. The first atomic bombs were dropped in August, 1945. The Arab League was formed in opposition to the creation of a Jewish state. The US entered World War I in 1917. Fuel and food controls were exerted in the US. The Bank of England was authorized by the government to issue money in excess of statutory limit. So, here we are again, with Saturn in Cancer. If Bush learned anything from Nixon's debacle, he should know better than to try to cover up who leaked the Wilson CIA story. This could definitely come back to hurt him. How entangled is Cheney with Haliburton and the White House with Enron? Even if weapons of mass destruction are found in Iraq, does that mean Iraq was a present danger? And is Iraq destined to have the same fate as Vietnam? With Saturn now coming to a conjunction of both President Bush's Sun and the US Sun this month, this is no time to try to hide anything. At minimum, watch for a fall in Bush's popularity and the truth to come out about the state of the US economy over the next few months.
